Would a straight guy ever worry about feminine hygiene?

I met a guy recently and after a couple of dates he was coming to my place and I warned him that it was messy. He remarked something to the effect of, girls with messy apartments are usually also unclean you know where. I said that sounds a little gay and that straight guys don't think like that. He said "oh so your attitude is I should just take you how ever you are? yeah right." My question is, do any straight men ever have concerns about feminine hygiene? Could a straight guy been turned off by a woman's body if she hadn't just showered? My concern is not that I don't have impeccable feminine hygiene, but that he may be a closet . I can't imagine any straight guy thinking like this or even about this. Am I wrong or is this guy gay?
